Turkmenistan has received its new ROPAX class ferry, built at shipyards in Croatia.

The ROPAX (roll-on/roll-off passenger) is a vessel built for freight vehicle transport along with passenger accommodation.

The ferry - the second ROPAX vessel built in Croatia - arrived in the country's international port city of Turkmenbashi Dec. 19, read a message issued by the Turkmen government.

A year ago, Turkmenistan received its first RO-PAX ferry, Berkarar, designed to carry passengers, trucks and other vehicles.

Both vessels were built at the ULJANIK shipyard in the Croatian city of Pula.

'Bagtyyar' is planned to regularly sail from Turkmenbashi to Baku (Azerbaijan), Olya (Russia), and Anzali and Amirabad (Iran), allowing to significantly save time for transportation of cargos from Europe to Central Asia, the Middle and the Far East, as well as increase the volume of trade.
