BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Wheat harvest has started in all regions of Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).

Wheat harvesting in the Akhal, Lebap and Mary regions will begin on June 3, and in the Balkan and Dashoguz regions - on June 10.

The dates of the beginning of wheat harvesting were announced by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a visiting meeting of the Turkmen government in the Dashoguz region of Turkmenistan, where key issues of socio-economic development of the region were considered.

Furthermore, the president noted that harvesting the grown wheat grain without losses is the key to strengthening the country's food independence.

Agriculture sector in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
