Turkmenistan and Afghan DABS energy company talk 2024 electricity supplies

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 14. The Turkmen delegation and representatives of the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) energy company held a meeting during which they discussed issues of electricity supply for 2024 (from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan) and accelerating the launch of the Noor Al-Jihad substation project in afghan city of Herat, Trend reports.

At the meeting, which was headed by DABS Chief Executive Officer Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Hanif Hamza and Head of the Turkmen Energy Ministry’s International Electricity Projects Department, Myrat Artykov, the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector was emphasized.

During the discussions, both sides focused on the importance of launching the Noor Al-Jihad substation project, stressing the need for operational measures.

Furthermore, the technical delegation of Turkmenistan invited the leadership of DABS to visit the capital of the country, Ashgabat, to finalize the agreement on the purchase of electricity.

The Chief Executive Officer of DABS also expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for continuous cooperation and stressed the importance of bilateral meetings in strengthening and maintaining positive relations between the two countries.

The government of Afghanistan is currently planning to implement about 200 electricity production and distribution projects on its territory within 4 years.
