BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. The EU Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) contributes to the development of cooperation and coordination between Turkmenistan and other Central Asian countries, a source in the BOMCA 10 told Trend.

According to the source, BOMCA 10 helps to expand bilateral, regional, and international information exchange on cross-border crime and modus operandi, twinning operations between Turkmenistan and other Central Asian countries.

At the same time, it was stated that the program contributes to strengthening the convergence and harmonization of national legal frameworks with the HACCAP standards, Codex Alimentarius and International Plant Protection Convention, WTO and WCO standards, and the OIE Terrestrial Code and Aquatic Code.

Meanwhile, the BOMCA 10 project is implemented by a consortium of the border management agencies of the selected member states of the EU and the International Center for Migration Police Development, led by the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia.

The overall objective of BOMCA 10 is to enhance security, stability, and sustainable growth in the region, as well as support cross-border cooperation and improve living conditions for people living in border areas
