Uzbekistan's Cabinet of Ministers has signed a decree to appoint Azim Ahmedhojayev head of the board of the country's Asaka Bank, the bank's representative told Trend May 16.

Azim Ahmedhojayev has served as the first deputy head of the board of Uzbekistan's National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity since 2011.

He has been working in the banking sector since 2003.

Previously, the Asaka Bank was headed by Kahramon Aripov.

Asaka Bank was founded in 1996.

The bank's assets rose by 37.5 percent as of 2015 and stood at 7.4 trillion soums, while its loan portfolio grew by 23.4 percent and stood at 3.4 trillion soums.

The official exchange rate on May 16 is 2909.25 soums /$ 1.
