Russian company continues modernization of largest thermal power plant in Uzbekistan

Russia's Power Machines has completed delivery of equipment for units #5 and #6 of Syrdarya Thermal Power Plant, Trend reports citing the company.

Within the framework of the contract on modernization of six power units of Syrdarya TPP in Uzbekistan, Power Machines company has shipped a set of basic equipment (turbine, generator, boiler) and is installing the supplied equipment.

The work on modernization and commissioning of the equipment of both power units will be completed by the end of 2020.

Modernization of six units of the Syrdarya TPP is being carried out in three stages with the total capacity of the plant increasing from 1,800 to 1,950 MW.

Power Machines have already implemented the first stage. As a result of the modernization, both power units (unit #3, #4) have modern equipment, having improved performance characteristics and meeting all reliability and safety requirements.

Completion of the modernization of the largest thermal power plant in Central Asia is scheduled for 2021.

Under the engineering, procurement and construction-contract, the Russian Power Machines company is carrying out a full-scale modernization of six power units.

The main equipment of the power units is manufactured by Russian enterprises such as Krasnyi Kotelschik TKZ PJSC and JSC Kaluga Turbine Works. The complex of construction and installation work is performed by the general subcontractor of Power Machines - JV Energoresurs.

Implementation of the project will increase the volume of electricity produced in Uzbekistan, ensure sustainable operation of the power system of Uzbekistan, and have a positive impact on the economic indicators of the region.

Power Machines is the only company in Russia that has competencies in almost the entire range of power equipment, including design, production, assembly, installation and maintenance. The equipment manufactured and supplied by the company's enterprises operates in 57 countries worldwide.

Today, the main activities of the company are the production of power equipment for thermal, nuclear, hydroelectric power, power grid complex, industry and transport.
