BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Toshkulov and Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama signed an agreement on the "Providing scholarships for personnel training" project,Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.

Head of the Representative Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Uzbekistan Suguru Miyazaki also signed a grant agreement.

The government of Japan allocated 298 million yen (about $2.76 million) within the project.

Through the project, in 2023, young civil servants of Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to study in Japan in the amount of a maximum of 18 scholarship holders in the magistracy and 1 scholarship holder in the doctoral program.

It is expected that implementation of the project will allow young civil servants to acquire professional knowledge and apply it for the economic and social development of the country.
