BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1. Japan has allocated a grant of $140,000 to improve the current status of 3 educational institutions in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

This grant is provided within the framework of the program of the Japanese Government “Grants to support small social projects to ensure human security”.

According to the statement, the grant presentation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova, and Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Takashi Hatori.

The message says that owing to the sum of money allocated by the Japanese government Uzbekistan will be able to install a sewage treatment plant in the school No.31 in Uzbekistan’s Urgench region and buy furniture for preschool educational organizations No. 19 and No. 28 of Termez city.

The Japanese government's program has been implemented in Uzbekistan since 1995. Within the framework of this program, Uzbekistan implemented 419 projects worth $29.8 million to improve medical and educational institutions, as well as the buildings of local governments.
