BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Uzbekistan put into operation a new solar panel with a capacity of 65 kW on the territory of Uzbekistan GTL company's building in Tashkent, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry.

Uzbek authorities pay special attention to boosting renewables deployment countrywide. In this regard, the number of solar panels installed on buildings and structures of social facilities and economic entities is expanding.

The abovementioned measures are taken within the framework of the Uzbek President's "On measures to accelerate the introduction of renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies in 2023" Resolution.

According to the Resolution, solar panels with a capacity of 220 MW will be installed at social facilities and government departments, at enterprises – 1300 MW, and at a newly built apartment building – 15 MW.

The number of solar panels will be increased not only in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent but also in the regions of the country such as Andijan, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Fergana, Navoi, and Samarkand.

In January 2023, in the territory of Uzbekistan GTL company's building the solar power plant with a capacity of 35 MW was put into operation. The newly set up solar power plant provides electricity to the company's building during the daytime, as well as will generate 115,000 kWh of electricity per year.
