BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Uzbekistan exported to Iran goods and services worth $18.5 million from January through February 2023, which is a decrease of 21.6 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 ($23.6 million), Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, Uzbekistan in the reporting period exported to Iran some 1,400 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $1.5 million, textile products worth $11.9 million, etc.
At the same time, Uzbekistan’s imports from Iran amounted to $61.9 million, increasing by 2.9 percent, compared to the figure for the first two months of 2022 ($60.1 million).
The Uzbek statistics say that the trade turnover between the countries in the reporting period decreased by 4.05 percent and amounted to $80.4 million over $83.8 percent in the same period of 2022.
The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Iran in 2022 amounted to $435.7 million, up by 1.02 percent, compared to 2021 ($431.6 million). Export from Uzbekistan to Iran in this period amounted to about $139.7 million, while imports - were $296 million.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover from January through February 2023 amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).
