BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Turkish companies have expressed their interest in investing in various projects implemented in Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The issue was discussed during the visit of a delegation of Turkish companies, led by the General Director of the Turkish "Ostim" industrial zone Adem Arızi in the Bukhara region.
During the visit, bilateral B2B meetings took place between Uzbek-Turkish entrepreneurs, with the participation of representatives from the Turkish business community in the construction, energy, healthcare, education, and other sectors.
Representatives of Turkish companies expressed their interest in developing cooperation with Uzbek partners and their readiness to invest in the region's economy. The parties discussed the prospects of establishing joint ventures and expanding cooperation in the industrial sector.
The latest data shows that, during the first four months of 2023, the bilateral trade between the two countries reached little over $1 billion. In 2022, Türkiye's trade turnover with Uzbekistan amounted to $3.2 billion, which is a decrease of 5.4 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($3.4 billion).
This visit serves as another step towards strengthening friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye and expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
