BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France stood at 380.75 million euros from January through July of 2023, a source at Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Union, told Trend.
This figure represents a significant increase of 1.9 times or 98.32 percent compared to the same period in 2022, which witnessed a trade turnover of 191.99 million euros.
As per Eurostat, Uzbekistan's imports from France amounted to 327.11 million euros during this period, reflecting a substantial growth of 2.9 times in comparison to the first seven months of 2022 when imports totaled 112.17 million euros.
Nevertheless, the volume of exports from Uzbekistan to France decreased, as the country exported goods worth a total of 53.64 million euros, which is 48.81 percent less than 79.82 million euros worth of goods exported to France in the corresponding period of 2022.
The overall trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the member states of the European Union from January through July 2023 exceeded 2.95 billion euros.
In addition, the total trade turnover between Uzbekistan and EU countries in 2022 amounted to 4.61 billion euros, marking a 41 percent increase compared to the 2.77 billion euros recorded in 2021.
