TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 7. Uzbekistan has signed agreements and memoranda totaling $1.2 billion with more than ten companies in China, the press service of the Andijan region said, Trend reports.
A delegation from the Andijan area led by regional governor Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov and over 300 Chinese businessmen, representatives of important firms, attended a large business forum in the Chinese city of Tianjin. Members of the Andijan delegation delivered investment assurances and news from Uzbekistan.
Meetings in B2B and G2B forms were also included in the forum schedule. Following the meetings, enterprises from Uzbekistan and China inked $1.2 billion in agreements and memoranda. Guoling IMP & EXP, Hebei Huigong Mechanical Equipment, Gao Shing, Shangdong Sinlu Co. Ltd., Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic, Xinjiang Tian Jiao Hong, and Agricultural Technology all signed the contracts.
Within the framework of the signed documents, projects on the production of leather shoes, batteries for electric cars and elevators, metal structures, the cultivation and processing of red pepper, as well as the construction of hydroelectric power plants in 10 districts of the Andijan region, will be implemented.
In addition, the delegation of the Andijan region held negotiations with representatives of Sinopharm.
The parties discussed issues related to the establishment of facilities for the production of pharmaceutical products in the Andijan region. The parties agreed to implement a project worth $50 million in the Andijan region. The project will be implemented by Sinopharm and Makro Farm Andijon.
Negotiations were also held with Lanzhou Guangtong New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. on launching production of electric buses in the Andijan region. The parties signed a memorandum worth $100 million. Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties intend to create capacity for the production of 2,000 electric buses per year.
Lanzhou Guangtong New Energy Automobile plans to implement a project on the production of electric scooters in the Andijan region. The cost of the project is $100 million.
The governor of the Andijan region held a meeting with representatives of Gansu Yucun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. As a result of the meeting, the parties signed a contract worth $400 million. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to install solar panels at 1,760 water wells in the Andijan region.
The delegation of Andijan also visited the furniture industry zone in Guangzhou and became familiar with the activities of furniture companies.
The Uzbek delegation made a proposal to the representatives of SOOS FURNITURE company on cooperation in establishing furniture production in the industrial zone, which is being created in Altinkul district. The Chinese partners accepted the proposals of the Uzbek side. At the same time, they expressed readiness to establish their enterprises in other regions as well.
