TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 17. Malaysian car manufacturer Proton (Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd-Proton) presented the plan of joint investment project with Uzavtosanoat JSC on production of cars in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
This was discussed during a meeting between diplomats of Uzbekistan's Embassy in Malaysia with Proton representatives.
The diplomats familiarized with the work of Proton, held negotiations with the specialists of the company headed by its deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah.
During the meeting, the Malaysian side was informed about economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, including projects being implemented in the sphere of national automobile industry, Uzavtosanoat JSC and its enterprises, types and volume of cars produced, detailed information was given about the possibilities of electric cars production in Uzbekistan, as well as about wide opportunities created for investors in the sphere of automobile industry.
The sides exchanged views on the current status of the project and conditions of its implementation during the presentation.
In adittion, the Uzbek diplomats familiarized with the working process at the Proton plant located in Tanjung Malim and the modern car models being produced there.
Earlier, ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Karomidin Gadoev met with director for development of new and international markets of Malaysian company "Fraser & Neave Holdings BHD" (F&N) Patrick Heng to discuss cooperation matters.
The parties discussed the possibilities of implementing a joint investment project with participation of F&N company on the basis of the existing raw material base and specialization of regions in Uzbekistan.
