TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 13. The volume of Uzbek commercial banks' problem loans amounted to 16.6 trillion soums ($1.3 billion) as of January 1, 2024, Trend reports.
The data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan shows that the share of problem loans in the loan portfolio of commercial banks amounted to 3.5 percent.
A total of 13.2 trillion soums ($1 billion) of problem loans fall on the share of banks with state shares. The share of problem loans in the loan portfolio of these banks is 4 percent.
The volume of problem loans at other banks amounted to 3.3 trillion soums ($267.2 million). The share of problem loans in these banks exceeds 2.4 percent.
The volume of Uzbekistan's bank cash turnover amounted to 831 trillion soums ($67.3 billion) in 2023 and increased by 19 percent year-on-year.
In particular, cash inflow to banks increased by 20 percent to 414 trillion soums ($33.5 billion) compared to last year.
The total amount of cash receipts in Uzbekistan amounted to 669 trillion soums ($54.2 billion) in 2023 and increased by 28 percent year-on-year.
