Uzbekistan reveals top banks with largest revenues through payment terminals

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 15. Uzbek banks’ revenues through payment terminals amounted to 47.5 trillion soums ($3.7 billion) from January through February 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU), Aloqa Bank has become the leader by the volume of revenues through payment terminals among the local banks from January through February 2024.

During the reporting period, Aloqa Bank’s revenues amounted to 8.3 trillion soums ($655.6 million).

The country’s Ipotekabank ranked second with more than 3.6 trillion soums ($284.3 million), with Uzbekistan’s National Bank closing the top 3 with more than 2.8 trillion soums ($221.1 million).

The CBU notes that the smallest volume of revenues through payment terminals in the country was registered for Smart Bank – 230 million soums ($18,167) during this period.

Meanwhile, a total of 430,264 payment terminals were installed in Uzbekistan from January through February 2024. The volume of revenues through payment terminals reached 47.5 trillion soums ($3.7 billion) during this period.

At the same time, the number of installed ATMs and infokiosks in the country totaled 26,917 from January through February 2024, while the number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 47.1 million.
