TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 4. Uzbekistan’s TBC Bank has registered revenues through payment terminals in the amount of 2.5 trillion soums ($199.7 million) from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the National Bank's revenues through payment terminals accounted for 2.5 percent of the total revenues of all banks in Uzbekistan during this period.
Uzbekistan’s Aloqa Bank ranked first with the most revenue volume of 17.3 trillion soums ($1.3 billion) from January through April 2024, while Smart Bank accounts for the smallest volume of revenues through payment terminals in the country, with 547 million soums ($43,373).
The total amount of revenues through payment terminals in the country reached 99.3 trillion soums ($7.8 billion) from January through April 2024. The recorded number reflects a 40 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, when the bank recorded 70.9 trillion soums ($5.6 billion) worth of transactions through POS terminals.
Meanwhile, a total of 429,197 payment terminals were installed in Uzbekistan from January through April 2024. The volume of revenues through payment terminals reached 99.3 trillion soums ($7.8 billion) during this period.
At the same time, the number of installed ATMs and infokiosks in the country totaled 27,119 from January through April 2024, while the number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 48.8 million.
