While Iran hasn't used its superior strategic advantage in the region before, it has the right to do so when its oil privileges are in danger, Pana news reported quoting Heshmatollah Falahat-Pisheh, head of the Majlis' foreign relations committee as saying.
"Closing the Strait of Hormuz in the face of threats is Iranians' right because two-thirds of the Persian Gulf's waters belong to Iran, and Americans know if 50 percent of the world's oil is unsafe, they will lose control of what happens, said Falahat-Pisheh.
"Iran's military exercises in the Persian Gulf scared the U.S. at a time when there were threats being made against Iran. Its manoeuvres showed the Persian Gulf can't be kept safe without Iran," Falahat-Pisheh added.
