Iran today started the 2-day "Helpers of Prophet Mohammad" military excercises in the Kurdistan province, according to IRGC Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Rajabi.

Iran today started the 2-day "Helpers of Prophet Mohammad" military excercises in the Kurdistan province, according to IRGC Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Rajabi, IRIB News reported.

According to Rajabi, 65 Al-Zahra batallions, 100 Ashura batallions, 10 Imam Huseyn batallions, and 1000 Salehin batallions are participating in the exercises.

The general added that 20,000 of participants in the exercises are from Iran's Basij civillian forces from Sanandaj, Bijar and Qorveh cities of the country.

The extensive excercises are being conducted to test the level of defense preparedness, discipline, defensive drills in urban conditions, and also for search and rescue operations.
