Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian has announced country's wetlands recovered with the recent rainfalls while Lake Urmia water level has increased 32 centimeters.

Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian has announced that the country's wetlands have recovered with the recent rainfalls, while Lake Urmia's water level has increased by 32 centimeters.

"The recent floods has refilled some 20 percent of the Hamoun wetlands, 70 percent of Hillah wetlands in Bushehr, 100 percent of Gandoman lagoon in Borujen County, 80 percent of Choghakhor Lagoon in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, some 90 percent of Hawizeh Marshes, 80 percent of Bamdej wetlands in Ahvaz and 40 percent of Maharloo Lake in Fars Province," he said, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"The current water level of dams, reservoirs is 35 billion cubic meters and the recent floods have refilled 70 percent of county's reservoirs."

He noted that Lake Urmia water level has raised 32 centimeters, while Gavkhuni wetland in Isfahan has been refilled after 15 years."
