BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. A total of 2,347 facilities will be put into operation in Iran's agricultural sector from June 10 through June 16, the statement of Iran's Ministry of Agriculture said, Trend reports.
The cost of the commissioned facilities is about 122 trillion rials (about $320 million).
These facilities include irrigation of agricultural lands, cattle breeding, poultry farming, horticulture, greenhouses, mechanization, fishery, and many others.
Thus, a total of 31,651 people will be rolling up their sleeves and getting down to business through the commissioning of agricultural facilities.
The largest amount of funds was spent on projects in East Azerbaijan Province, Razavi Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan Provinces. Thus, 14.2 trillion rials (about $37.4 million) were spent in East Azerbaijan Province, about 12.8 trillion rials (about $33.7 million) in Razavi Khorasan Province, and about 7.1 trillion rials (about $18.6 million) in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
To note, Iran grows on average more than 130 million tons of agricultural products per year.
