Iran and Azerbaijan have launched the electronic customs clearance system, the Iranian customs administration said in a statement.
Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) has said that the system will facilitate exchange of data with the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Iranian YJC website (Young Journalists Club) reported.
According to the statement, the customs electronic clearance system has been created aiming at facilitating the procedures of clearance of goods in customs checkpoints.
The customs electronic clearance system makes it possible for importers and exporters to go through customs procedures only once as the customs services of both countries will officially recognize the declarations issued in the neighboring country.
According to the report, the development came following an agreement between Iran and Russia on the creation of a green customs corridor aimed at simplifying the exports of goods.
