The rate of international registration of innovations by Iranians doubled in 2016 compared to 2015, said Mehdi Zeighami, director of patents at the Iranian Department of Science and Technology.
While in 2015 Iranians registered 48 innovations internationally, the number of such registrations by Iranians soared to 94 in 2016, he said, IRNA news agency reported February 8.
Iran has prioritized science-based activities as a future propelling power of its economy, giving special bonuses to science-based companies.
Recently government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht told Trend that high-tech activities are defined as one of the two main areas of interest by the government for the 2025 development perspective.
