Iran’s poverty rate would stand at about 9 percent (based on $5.5, 2011 purchasing power parity (PPP) during next five years, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimated.
According to a report, published on IMF’s official website Feb.28, “with per capita incomes unchanged from a decade ago and poverty on the rise, pressure to realize rapid gains is high”.
Iran’s per capita GDP stood at $5,288 with nominal GDP of $415 billion with 80 million population.
Currently the nominal GDP plunged to $368, but it is expected to reach $472 billion in the next five years.
Besides the poverty rate, the unemployment rate is expected to remain almost unchanged in the next five years.
