Iran has exported 36 tons of trout to Russia via the Astara customs checkpoint, Bahram Pourzarb, head of the veterinary department of Astara city, said.
The consignment worth $144,000 was shipped from western Sanandaj city, Pourzarb said, IRNA news agency reported July 19.
This is the fourth trout package exported through Astara to Russia during the current fiscal year (started March 20, 2017), the Iranian official added.
He further said that 18 tons of cheese, worth $34,000 has been exported recently to Russia, the second package in the current fiscal year.
Iran currently exports fishery and milk products to Russia.
