Japan to grant Iran financial aid to equip training workshops

Japan will help Iran to equip vocational training workshops in two underdeveloped provinces.

Under a deal, which was signed on Feb. 26 the Japanese government will give Technical & Vocational Training Organization of Iran 138,500 euros in grants to help it buy equipment for vocational training workshops in provinces of Hormozgan and South Khorasan, the official IRNA news agency reported.

The deal foresees granting 71,488 euros for equipping the organization’s training workshops in southern province of Hormozgan and 67,065 euros for workshops in eastern South Khorasan province.

The grants will be allocated during Japan’s current fiscal year.

The contract envisages equipping of home appliances, computers and sewing workshops in South Khorasan province and workshops of building electric, industrial electric and welding in Hormozgan province.

Technical and Vocational Training Organization (TVTO), affiliated to the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social welfare, is the main institution in charge of short-term technical and vocational training in Iran.

TVTO’s main task is providing vocational training and research through 1 - 18 months courses. The organization trains skilled and semi-skilled labor force which is needed by industry, agriculture and service providers throughout the country.
