Oil product loading, unloading at Iranian ports continue to fall

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has loaded and unloaded more than 3.435 million tons of oil products at its ports across the country over the third month of the Iranian fiscal year (May 21-June 21).

The figure stood at 3.78 million tons over the preceding calendar month (April 20-May 21).

The oil products loading/unloading in Iranian ports decreased by 17 percent in the last Iranian calendar month, year-on-year, according to the latest data available on the PMO website.

The figure also registered a fall by 9.1 percent, on a monthly basis.

According to the report, eight out of POM’s 20 ports, including Abadan, Imam Khomeini, Anzali, Bushehr, Chabahar, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee and Qeshm were involved in oil products loading/unloading during the period.

The data indicates that 1.61 million tons of oil products were unloaded at Iranian ports, 10.6 percent less year-on-year.

Meanwhile, 1.82 million tons of oil products were loaded at the ports, which was 22 percent less compared to the one-month period of the preceding year.

In general, over 11.63 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports during the first three months of the current fiscal year (March 20-June 21), indicating a 6.7-percent decrease year-on-year.

Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 10.95 million tons of various goods and commodities, including food and metal products between May 21 and June 21, 16.9 percent less year-on-year.

In total, over 153 million tons of various goods were loaded/unloaded at Iranian ports during the last fiscal year, including 46.7 million tons of oil products. The volume is 5.5 percent more than the loaded/unloaded products in the preceding year.
