7 mining projects ready to be launched in Iran

Seven mining projects are ready to be launched in Iran, said IMIDRO Managing Director Khodadad Gharibpour, Trend reports with reference to the IMIDRO website.

He said that these projects are in Kirman, Zanjan, South Khorasan and Isfahan provinces.

He added that with the launch of these projects, 6,923 people will be employed.

“The investments in projects in Zanjan, South Khorasan and Isfahan provinces amount to more than $37 million,” he said.

He noted that four projects with investments worth over $630 million in Kirman province are ready to be launched.

“These projects include the Baft Steel Complex with capacity of 800,000 tons of sponge iron, Kosar and Golgohar companies with capacity of 2 million tons of sponge iron, Sirjan Iranian Steel Company with production capacity of 1.2 million tons, as well as a thermal power plant No 1 in Sirjan city with production capacity of 160 megawatts of electricity,” he said.
