Right to operate South Azadegan field transferred to Iran’s Arvandan company

The right to operate the South Azadegan oil field in western Iran which is the joint Iran-Iraq field has been officially transferred to the Arvandan oil and gas company, executive director of the company Jahangir Pourhang said.

“The South Azadegan field was developed by Iran's Petroleum Engineering and Development Company,” Pourhang added, Trend reports on Oct. 16 referring to the website of the National Iranian Oil Company.

The executive director added that the production potential at the field is 120,000 barrels of crude oil daily.

The South Azadegan field is part of the Azdegan field which is the joint Iran-Iraq field. The development of this field is one of the priorities of the National Iranian Oil Company.

Presently, 85,000 barrels of oil are produced at the field daily. The relevant work is being simultaneously carried out to increase production at 100 wells.
