The value of animal and poultry feed imported to Iran increased by 22 percent during nine months (from March 21 through December 21) of this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019) compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Iran’s Feed Association said.
“Over 10 million tons of animal and poultry feed worth $2.7 billion were imported during the reporting period,” Trend reports referring to Iran’s Feed Association.
“Iran imported over 9 million tons of animal and poultry feed worth $2.3 billion during the reporting period of last Iranian year,” the association said.
“Some 6.2 million tons of corn worth $1.5 billion were imported during the reporting period,” the association said. “The import volume decreased by two percent while import value increased by three percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year.”
Some 2.5 million tons of barley worth $641 million were imported. The import volume increased by 33 percent while import value by 53 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year.
Some 1.3 million tons of soybeans worth $588 million were imported during the reporting period. The import value increased by 59 percent while import volume by 61 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year.
