Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi has announced that the administration has boosted the development of northern roads in Ardabil province, Trend reports via IRNA.
Raisi further spoke on the construction of the Parsabad-Ardabil Highway Construction Project in Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran).
“In addition, to improve road safety and efficiency, this highway should become the main road for transporting agricultural products to the region,” President Raisi said.
The construction project of the second Parsabad-Ardabil highway with a length of 222 km has been in the works since 2014. Some 47 kilometers of the highway have been put into operation so far.
A previous IRNA report said in order to fully complete the project an estimated $797 million is required.
