BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at the ports of Iran’s Bushehr Province rose by 6.5 percent during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Bushehr Province’s Ports and Maritime Department Mohammad Shakibinasab said, Trend reports.
The official noted that 58.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the ports of Bushehr Province for 11 months.
Shakibinasab added that about 49.2 million tons of the mentioned volume accounted for crude oil and related products, showing an increase of 7.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
He informed that 9.83 million tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at Bushehr Province's ports in the first 11 months. This is 3.5% more than the same period last year.
The representative of the port noted that about 116,000 tons of cargo were transported through the regional ports during the 11 months.
Bushehr Province has several major ports, such as Bushehr, Kharg, Genaveh, Dayyer, Asaluyeh, and others.
