BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. The volume of cargo loading and unloading at Noshahr and Fereydoon Kenar ports in Mazandaran province, located in northern Iran, increased by 93 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), director general of Iran's Mazandaran Province Port and Maritime Administration, Saeed Kia-Kajouri said, Trend reports.
As he noted, last year, around 1.52 million tons of goods were
loaded and unloaded at Iran's Noshahr and Fereydoonkenar ports.
During the specified time period, Kia-Kajouri observed 488 cargo
ships docking at the two ports. This represents a 79 percent
increase over the previous year.
To be specific, Iran's Mazandaran province features three ports:
Noshahr, Fereydoon Kenar, and Amirabad.
Fereydoon Kenar port in Iran has an area of 69 hectares. This port
has two platforms and can load and unload 700,000 tons of cargo per
year.
Noshahr, an Iranian harbor, occupies 40 hectares of land. This port
can accommodate 500 ships each year.
