Iran's product imports from Uzbekistan magnify

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Iran's product imports from Uzbekistan increased by 72.7 percent in value and 140 percent in weight in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, Iran imported 84,700 tons of products worth $125 million from Uzbekistan in the last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, Iran's product imports from Uzbekistan in the previous Iranian year amounted to 35,200 tons worth about $72.4 million.

The statistics add that Iran imported cotton, beans, silk, ammonium nitrate, etc. from Uzbekistan last year.

The information indicates that, for the 12th month of the last Iranian year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024), Iran's product imports from Uzbekistan amounted to 10,400 tons worth $12.3 million.

However, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, imports of products to Iran last year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.

To note, in importing products, Iran mainly focuses on importing products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on importing products manufactured in the country.
