BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 4. The number of enterprises whose activities have been restored in Gilan province, located in the north of Iran, has increased by 50 percent in the past three years (from June 2021 through June 2024), Chairman of the Industrial, Mining, and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Teymur Purheydari told reporters on June 4, Trend reports.
According to him, the activity of 116 out of 330 industrial enterprises in Gilan province was restored during the reporting period.
Purheydari also said that the activity of six industrial enterprises was restored from June 2021 through the end of the year, 44 - from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023, and 66 - from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024.
The official pointed out that 477 industrial enterprises were commissioned in the past three years in Gilan province, spending about 150 trillion rials (about $404 million), and 13,813 people have been employed by the commissioning of this number of enterprises.
To note, Iran restored the activity of 1,440 industrial enterprises in the local industrial parks during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
Additionally, 851 industrial parks operate in Iran, with more than 55,000 industrial enterprises and over one million people working in industrial enterprises.
