Chairman of Iraqi Parliament's Committee on Security and Defense Hakim Al-Zamili called for further expansion of defense cooperation with Iran, the Islamic Repubulic's official IRNA news agency reported Feb. 4.
Al-Zamili made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Military Attaché in Baghdad Mostafa Moradian.
Iraqi Parliament's Committee on Security and Defense is fully ready to reinforce military cooperation with Iran, he added.
Al-Zamili also expressed gratitude to Iran for supporting Iraq in its fight against terrorism.
Moradian, for his part, said the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully ready to expand its aids to Iraq aimed at containing the terrorist groups.
Iran has always stood by the Iraqi people and is ready to increase its supports from Baghdad in all areas, Moradian added.
