Iranian inmates to go free with ankle monitors

Prisoners in Iran who meet some requirements will be given ankle monitors to wear and go free.
The announcement was made by Head of Iran Prisons Organization Ali Asqar Jahangir in an interview with Mehr news agency June 14.
He said that the prisoners would have to pay 100,000 rials (about $3) per day while wearing the devices.
Official reports say currently there are 225,000 inmates in prisons across Iran.
