Most Azerbaijan's export fell to the crude oil for nine months of the year (86.74 percent). It was exported to the amount of $19.2 billion in January-October or 27.79 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
During the reporting period, oil products were exported to the amount of $ 1.2 billion (an increase of 14.45 percent per year), or 5.58 percent of total exports.
Azerbaijan exported chemical products to the amount of $95.1 million in January-October 2011, or 2.64 times more than the same period of last year. The figure hit 0.43 percent of total exports. It should be stressed that "Azerkimya" production association increased exports of the main types of manufactured goods: polyethylene, propylene, isopropyl alcohol, polyethylene, propylene glycol, and others to Turkey. Thus, more than 50 percent of all Azerkimya's export goods are exported to the Turkish market.
Up to 70 percent of canned fruits and vegetables produced in Azerbaijan are delivered for export, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Ismet Abasov said. "Azerbaijan fully satisfies its need for canned fruits and vegetables and 70 percent of this production is exported to the CIS countries and Europe," Abasov said. He said that about 80 enterprises are engaged in fruit and vegetable processing in Azerbaijan. Their capacity allows producing about 750 million of standard cans a year. Minister said that the production volumes of potatoes, vegetables, melons, fruits and berries exceed demand for these products by 1.5-1.7 times. Consequently, the export of these products increased this year.
In future Azerbaijan will also increase the production of beer and wine, most part of which will be exported, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Ismet Abasov said. At present, more than 20 companies in the country are engaged in beer production. They produce more than 3.2 million deciliters of beer per year, while annual demand for beer is 2 deciliters. The volume of beer production is expected to be increased to 4.5 million deciliters. Most of the products will be exported. "The volume of wine production is expected to be increased to 3 million deciliters by 2015. About 2 million can be exported," Abasov said. He said that the grape wine is produced at 30 wineries in Azerbaijan.
