The actual revenue in the revenue part of Azerbaijan's state budget amounted to 9.524.5 billion manat in January-June 2013 (35 percent of GDP) increasing by 17.1 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
State budget expenditures increased by 22.8 percent to 8.730.2 billion manat (32.1 percent of GDP). The budget surplus for Jan.-June amounted to 794.3 million manat, which made up 2.9 percent of GDP. It reduced by 22.5 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
Some 3.326.1 billion manat (34.9 percent) in the structure of revenues is ensured by the Ministry of Taxes. Revenues from customs duties and taxes amounted to 639.9 million manat (6.7 percent), from other sources - 5.558.5 billion manat (58.4 percent).
Tax collections increased by 12 percent, the customs duties - by 14.8 percent and revenues from other sources - by 20.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.
During the reporting period, 1.257.8 billion manat were received from VAT collection, which represents 13.2 percent of total income; profit tax revenues amounted to 1.295.9 billion manat (13.6 percent), income tax - 395.3 million manat (4.2 percent), excise tax - 288.3 million manat (3 percent), property tax - 58.4 million manat (0.6 percent), land tax - 14.9 million manat (0.2 percent), tax on mineral resources - 60.2 million manat (0.6 percent), and the tax on foreign economic activity - 316.8 million manat (3.3 percent).
Some 906.5 million manat of the budget (with a share of 10.4 percent) was directed to social security and protection of the population; education - 582.3 million manat (6.7 percent), health care - 257.4 million manat (2.9 percent), maintenance of the prosecution, security, law enforcement, judicial bodies - 430.4 million manat (4.9 percent), investments in the economy - 3.849.8 billion manat (44.1 percent).
Some 1.657.3 billion manat (19 percent) of public expenditures was spent on payment of salaries, pensions and benefits.
