Georgia's Minister for Refugees and their Accommodation David Darakhvelidze held an official meeting with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of refugees and returnees and the setting up the barbed wire near the village of Ditsi.

Darakhvelidze briefed the delegation on the situation of refugees and presented statistics, according to which 40,000 families are in dire need of housing.

The new government's plans in connection with the resettlement of refugees were also presented. In particular, there are two approaches - the restoration of old buildings and the construction of new ones.

Vollebaek, in turn, appreciated the activities of agencies and noted that the provision of assistance to the Ministry in preparation for repatriation will continue.
