The trial over scandalous torture videos of prisoners in Georgia and other accusations against the former Minister of Justice Zurab Adeishvili begins on Tuesday.
Zurab Adeishvili left Georgia after parliamentary elections on October 1, accusations against him were imposed in absentia.
The former minister is accused of abuse of his privileges, the organization of degrading and inhuman treatment of prisoners and tampering with evidence.
The video is of two officers beating a prisoner in a cell. According to the chief prosecutor, the scene was set by Adeishvili's order.
The second part of the case is related to the agreement between different branches of government over attempts to ruin the "Cartu" bank.
