Tbilisi airport may be named after the first President of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia.

The issue of renaming Georgian capital's important objects was discussed yesterday at an extended meeting of the Tbilisi sakrebulo (representative body in the city government).

During the meeting it was noted that the name of Georgia's first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia is being considered as one of versions of airport's new name and 'Rose Revolution' Square is planned to be named after the leader of the National-Liberation Movement Merab Kostava.
