The Government of Georgia will submit the revised version of the 2022 state budget to the Parliament today, Irakli Kovzanadze, the Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee, said, Trend reports via his Facebook page.

The economic growth forecast for the current year has increased from 9.5 percent to 10 percent and the GDP will reach 65 billion Georgian lari ($20.5 billion) in nominal terms, Kovzanadze said.

The economic growth has been maintained at 6 percent for 2022, the deficit is maintained at 4.4 percent as well, while the public debt is 52.2 percent, he said.

“There are interesting changes in the allocation part and we have an increase in funding for a number of spending entities. The revised version takes into account some of the remarks and suggestions made in parliament during the review of the initial version,” the chairman said.

“Next week we will discuss in detail the revised version of the draft state budget at the sitting of the committee,” Kovzanadze added.
