Georgia’s imports of aviation fuel from Azerbaijan in 2021 totaled 12,000 tons, which accounted for 12.4 percent of the total aviation fuel imports, Trend reports via the Union of Petroleum Products Importers of Georgia.
Thus, Azerbaijan ranked second among top aviation fuel exporters to Georgia in 2021, following after Turkmenistan with 59.9 percent share (57,700 tons) in the total aviation fuel imports.
Meanwhile, Italy ranked third among main aviation fuel exporters to Georgia with 11.3 percent share (10,900 tons) in the total aviation fuel imports.
Georgia’s total aviation fuel imports in 2021 increased by 70.9 percent, compared to 56,400 tons in 2020, and totaled 96,400 tons.
However, the same figure slightly decreased by 5.3 percent, compared to 101,800 tons in 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).
