Syrian Foreign Minister
Walid al Muallem on Monday denied news reports that Syria signed an agreement with Greek Cypriot administration, Anadolu Agency reported.
According to diplomatic sources, Muallem called Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on the phone saying that reports on signing of economic zone agreement does not correspond to reality.
Earlier in the day, Syria's Ambassador to Turkey Nidal Kabalan denied news stories about an economic agreement between his country and Republic of Cyprus.
He said the news stories that Syria and the Greek Cypriot administration signed economic zone agreement during Syrian President Bashar al-Asad's visit to the island were inaccurate.
