Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said he was confident of his people's capability to overcome the country's crisis, al-Watan daily reported Thursday.
Al-Assad made the remarks during his meeting on Wednesday with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi who delivered al-Assad a solidarity message from Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Xinhua reported.
Bin Alawi stressed his country's support for the reforms that al-Assad announced recently.
Syria has been wracked with three-month-old anti-government protests that erupted in the south and spread into most of the Syrian areas including the capital Damascus.
