The attacks on a university in the Syrian city of Aleppo that killed and injured dozens of people this week amounted to war crimes, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday, DPA reported.
"The deliberate targeting of civilians constitutes war crimes," Ban said of the attacks taking place on Tuesday. "Such heinous attacks are unacceptable and must stop immediately."
UN spokesman Eduardo del Buey said Ban "strongly condemned" the attacks and expressed condolences to families of the victims. Ban also called for an immediate investigation.
