The airstrikes in Iraq hit ISIL fighting positions, vehicles, tactical units weapons as well as an one of the militants sniper positions and homemade explosives cache.

"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted six airstrikes using attack and fighter aircraft," the CENTCOM statement read on Thursday. "Separately in Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted 20 airstrikes approved by the Iraqi Ministry of Defense using attack, fighter, bomber and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL [Islamic State] terrorists."

In Syria, the Coalition forces launched six airstrikes which destroyed an ISIL trench system, fighting positions and three crude oil collection points.

Would-be martyrs joining the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) from around the world are complaining of favoritism, as senior militants tap friends and family for the honor of blowing themselves up in the name of jihad.

"Coalition airstrikes struck across Iraq," Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve Colonel Wayne Marotto said in the statement. "When Daesh [Islamic State] terrorists expose themselves and their equipment, we will strike them."

The Coalition began carrying out airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Iraq in August 2014, and expanded the air campaign to Syria in September 2014, although without the approval of the Syrian government.

The airstrikes were a part of the Coalition's Operation Inherent Resolve, whose goal is to eliminate the Islamic State, according to statement.
