Mauritania says 6 suspected terrorists arrested in weekend sting
Mauritanian officials say security forces have arrested six suspected terrorists in a weekend sting operation, the Associated Press reported.
The city's chief prosecutor says the arrests dismantled a cell that "was planning terrorist acts" in the past few days. Mohamed Abdallahi Ould Tiyib announced the arrests Monday during a press conference on the country's counter-terrorism efforts.
He refused to give more details on those arrested or how they were found out.
