Explosion kills 8, wounds 20 in NW Pakistan

An explosion occurred in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP) on Sunday and eight people were killed and 20 others injured, the private DAWN NEWS TV channel reported.
  
The explosion took place in Dera Ismail Khan, the DAWN NEWS quoted District Police Officer Muhammad Iqbal as saying.
  
He confirmed that the explosion was triggered by an explosive device which was planted in a rickshaw, Xinhua reported.
  
The private Geo TV channel reported that the blast occurred in the Tijarat Ganj Market area in the city. The blast was so powerful that a vehicle and various shops were damaged while the Bomb Disposal Squad said 5 to 6 kilograms of explosive were used in the blast.
  
The injured were shifted to a local hospital for treatment. Police said security personnel had arrested a suspect at the blast site.
